LinkedIn Introduces Video Carousels in Feed
03/09/2024Have you ever ended up buying something from a social media ad that you didn’t really need or even want? It turns out you’re not alone. According to a recent survey by WalletHub, 74% of respondents admitted to making such a purchase, with 63% later regretting it.
Part of this regret stems from encountering scams, which still plague many social platforms. You might see an ad for a product, find the website convincing, only to realize a week later that your order hasn’t even been processed.
This risk factor is one reason why social commerce hasn’t gained widespread traction, particularly in Western countries. The high rate of purchase regret linked to social media is notable and raises questions about the overall consumer experience.
