Meta Expands Broadcast Channels to All Pages with Over 10k Followers

Meta is broadening the availability of its Broadcast Channels feature, allowing all Facebook Pages with over 10,000 followers to create their channels on both Facebook and Messenger.

Initially launched in October last year, Broadcast Channels for Facebook and Messenger followed a successful debut on Instagram. Now, Meta is expanding this one-to-many communication option to more Pages and introducing additional features.

As demonstrated in these examples, Meta has introduced several new features alongside expanded access:

• Cross-Platform Sharing: Automatically share updates from your Instagram channel to your Facebook channel, allowing for a broader reach of your messages.

• Exclusive Early Access: Channel managers can now publish Facebook posts to channel members before they go live on your Page. This serves as an exclusive perk for members and provides an opportunity to test posts before a wider release.

• Story Sharing: Creators and members can share channel content through Facebook Stories using a dedicated sticker format.

Instagram creators can also create Broadcast Channels, but this feature is not yet available to everyone. This announcement specifically pertains to Broadcast Channels on Facebook and Messenger. Additionally, Meta notes that all Professional Mode creators with over 10,000 followers will be able to create a Broadcast Channel “in the coming months.”

So, is it worth creating a Broadcast Channel?

With more interactions shifting to messaging, creating a Broadcast Channel could offer a valuable way to maintain continuous engagement with your audience by sending updates directly to their inbox.

Broadcast Channels can be prominently displayed in the “Featured” section at the top of your Page, and creators can also promote their Channels in their feed.

This feature aligns with current usage trends, and Meta reports that it has been a popular option. Therefore, it might be worth considering if you have frequent updates to share with your most dedicated fans.
