18/12/2024TikTok Introduces Educational Tools to Support Sellers
27/12/2024Instagram already allows users to schedule posts and Stories, and now the platform is testing a feature that will enable users to schedule DMs as well.
Currently being tested with a select group of users, this new DM scheduling tool allows messages to be sent at optimal times, ensuring they reach recipients when they’re most likely to engage.
As shown in an example shared by social media expert Lindsey Gamble, some Android users can now choose a specific date and time to send their DMs, which can be particularly helpful for managing communication across different time zones.
This feature could be valuable for brands aiming to connect with their audience at the most effective times, or for anyone looking to plan and organize their content in advance.
To schedule a DM, users can open the relevant chat, write their message, and then long-press the send button. This will display an option to choose the desired date and time for sending.
It offers a convenient way to stay connected with an audience at the most suitable times. With more and more activity happening in Instagram DMs, this feature could become an essential tool for outreach.
Alternatively, users could set up an AI bot to respond to DMs automatically. While this may help streamline communication, it might also feel impersonal or spammy. However, for accounts with a high volume of DMs, it could assist in managing interactions more efficiently.
Meta is also experimenting with AI bots that respond in a creator’s style or even engage in video chats with fans. These additional options could offer expanded engagement opportunities, especially for creators looking to interact more with their followers.
For small businesses, the ability to schedule DMs could be a useful tool for managing outreach effectively once it becomes available.
