LinkedIn Introduces Feature to Reply to Specific DMs on Mobile

LinkedIn is making it easier to interact via DMs by introducing a new feature that allows users to reply to specific messages within a chat stream.

Social media expert Matt Navarra demonstrated that LinkedIn users can now long-press on a comment and select “Reply” from the options.

This will display your response directly beneath the comment in the chat stream, facilitating longer conversations and ensuring recipients understand exactly what you’re replying to.

This feature has been available on desktop (by hovering over a message) for some time, but it’s now accessible on the mobile app as well.

While this isn’t a major change, it’s a useful one that could enhance direct interactions within the app.

Like other social platforms, LinkedIn continually improves its DM features to support direct connections, in line with evolving digital communication trends.

More people are engaging in private conversations rather than posting publicly, and LinkedIn has introduced various new options to support this shift, including an AI assistant for InMails, AI-powered job application queries, company page DMs, and more.

Even if you are not a fan of AI assistants writing InMails for you, these new tools are a great option if you wish to enhance your connective capacity in the app. The ability to respond to specific messages is another refinement that will enhance your LinkedIn messaging experience.
